Each Subject Survey Takes 15 – 20 Minutes

In each subject area — English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies — identify a minimum of 20 topic statements and a maximum of 30 topic statements as the ones you think are most important for students to know. Note that the most basic knowledge and skills (e.g., addition and subtraction, the ability to read and spell words) are not listed as separate topics, because they are prerequisites for the topics listed in the survey.

Take All Four Subjects or Just the Ones You Choose

We encourage you to take the survey in all four subject areas, but you may do only the subject(s) you choose. The pdf printout versions of the math and science surveys include explanations of selected terms and concepts.

You do not have to take all subjects in one sitting, but
once you start a subject online, you should complete and submit it.

Print Surveys Out to Examine — Submit Selections Electronically

Although all responses must be made online, you may find it helpful to:
  • print out the pdf version of the survey for each subject

  • make your choices on paper at your leisure

  • transfer those selections to the electronic version when you are ready and submit online
English (PDF)
Math (PDF)
Science (PDF)
Social Studies (PDF)

This survey is best taken using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser on a Windows platform or the Safari browser on a Macintosh platform.
