Strategic Planning

Based on data analysis and the Needs Assessment Report, the International Center will assist in the development of a individualized action plan.  Strategic planning will consist of three days of work by the school leadership team with an International Center School Coach who will facilitate a process to:

  • Create consensus around priority goals
  • Develop strategic action plans for each priority goal

Introduce the  International Center’s Whole School Reform Philosophy

School coach presents the International Center’s philosophy on Whole School Reform by reviewing

  • Reform is customized to unique school needs based on adapting practices from successful schools
  • Rigor, Relevance and Relationships for All Students is a powerful organizing theme for reform initiatives
  • Where schools are and where they want to go? – Defining beliefs through analysis of the Learning Criteria to Support 21st Century Learners
  • How to change – Assessment of school based on the Implementation Components of School Excellence
  • All components should be eventually addressed but action plan will focus on priority initiatives

Present Data Analysis and Needs Assessment Report

The School Coach will:

  • Share findings from Data Analysis and Needs Assessment Report
  • Develop understanding of findings
  • Review observations of culture and practice
  • Judgment of facts and beliefs
  • Identify priority goals

Evaluate and Analyze Priority Goals

The Planning Team will:

  • Reflect on current practice
  • Evaluate what’s working and what’s not
  • Review International Center resources and consider new ideas with current school initiatives

Develop an Individualized Action Plan

The Planning Team will identify:

  • Strategic Actions
  • Benchmarks
  • Key personnel responsibilities
  • Expenditures
  • Timeline that includes use of ICLE resources and professional development needs

Introduction to Membership in SPN

The School Coach will:

  • Introduce services and resources of SPN
  • Provide leadership team with user name and passwords
  • Develop understanding of on-going support through coaching services
